A full estimate will be provided to ensure complete transparency and understanding of the services offered.

At John Ross Funeral Services, we do not charge extra for:

  • Coming to your home to make arrangements or meeting families out with office hours
  • Collection of clothing locally
  • Family viewing
  • Delivery of ashes locally
  • Online announcements on our website and Facebook page
  • An oak grave marker for burials
  • Access to specialist bereavement support

Direct Cremation

Our unattended direct cremation service includes:

  • Professional services and making all arrangements for the funeral service
  • Advice on certification and registration of the death and related documentation
  • Provision of a simple cremation coffin
  • Collection and care of the deceased (an additional charge for out of hours collection will apply)
  • Transportation of the deceased to Moray Crematorium for a service on a date and time of our choosing
  • The crematorium fee for an unattended service is included
  • Ashes collected on behalf of the family
  • 24 hour support

Simple Funeral Service

Our simple funeral service includes:

  • Professional services and making all arrangements for the funeral service
  • Advice on the certification and registration of the death and related documentation
  • Provision of a simple oak veneer coffin
  • Collection and care of the deceased (an additional charge for out of hours collection will apply)
  • Provision of hearse to a local cemetery or Inverness Crematorium
  • Highland Council Crematorium fee or Interment fee (Lair purchase fee is not included)
  • Ashes collected on behalf of the family
  • 24 hour support

Traditional Funeral Service

Our traditional funeral service is fully flexible, tailored to the needs of the individual, creating a funeral as unique as the person it is for and includes:

  • Professional services and making all arrangement for the funeral service including:

  • Supervising and conducting the funeral arrangements in accordance with your instructions
  • Preparation of documentation and liaison with the appropriate authorities
  • Making and receiving all necessary telephone calls
  • Arranging for the attendance of the celebrant for the funeral service
  • Placement of shop notices and announcements in newspapers
  • Preparation of music & service sheets
  • Making the necessary disbursement payments on your behalf
  • Advice on the certification and registration of the death and related documentation
  • 24 Hour Support
  • Collection of the deceased (office hours within a 25 mile radius of our offices) from £270

Terms of Business

Deposits John Ross Funeral Services Ltd. does not require a deposit in advance of an attended funeral service taking place. Where an unattended cremation/burial has been instructed, payment of the invoice in full is required before the service will proceed.

Payment The funeral invoice will normally be sent 7-10 days after the funeral and is due within 30 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed by us in writing.

Interest Accounts outstanding after 30 days will be liable to a 2.5% surcharge which will be applied every 30 days thereafter. All legal expenses will also be applied.
