George Fraser

Margaret, Ian, Fiona and family would like to thank all the NHS carers, Grantown doctors, Ian Charles and Raigmore Hospitals for their attentive care and dedication over the past years of George’s illness.  Thank you also to all who called, sent cards, letters, flowers, baking and messages, they were all heart felt and appreciated. Thanks to Spud the Piper for piping George along the Square and at the graveside. Also, thanks to Nikki and the team at John Ross Funeral Services for their efficiency and care, at this most difficult of times. We will have a celebration of George’s life when possible, all welcome.

The family of the late Agnes Sharkey would like to say a very special thank you to the Wade Centre, all the doctors and nurses at the Health Centre, Kingussie and Rev. Kelly, Lizzie, Spud, Frances and families would like to thank everyone for the cards and kind words following the sad loss of their father, Pipe Major Ian Fraser. The family would especially like to thank those who attended Ian’s funeral under difficult circumstances both in the church and at the cemetery. Thank you also to Rev. David would like to thank everyone for their support and words of sympathy following the sad loss of Kathleen. Dr Fran Burns

The family and friends of the late Dr. Fran Burns wish to thank everyone concerned in her funeral service.  Special thanks to Lesley Simpson, humanist celebrant, who conducted the service and gave an inspiring eulogy; to Dr. Peter Grant who provided a fitting tribute as a friend and colleague of Fran’s in Grantown; and to Marie Louise Napier who provided the beautiful music.  Special thanks are also due to John Ross Funeral Services for their excellent services and, to the Grant Arms Hotel for refreshments provided. We wish to extend our deep gratitude to all the medical services involved in Fran’s care during her illness – the Grantown Health Centre, the Ian Charles Hospital and Raigmore Hospital. Finally, thankyou to all who attended Fran’s funeral, and to those who sent expressions of sympathy and who contributed so generously to the fund for the Community Nurses and Macmillan Cancer Support, to which organisations Fran felt very grateful. The sum of £705.33 was raised.

Bobby Nield

Following the loss of Robert Scott (Bobby), beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and friend, on 10th March, Shirley extends her grateful thanks to Kingussie Medical Practice for the exceptional care they gave Bobby over the past 10 years. To district nurses, Karen and the team, to Dr Walter Mmeka and the nurses at the Macmillan Suite, Raigmore for all they did for both Bobby and Shirley over the years. To the Reverend Mary Ellen Thomson for her moving service and to Kenny and Donald for their tributes which will always be a very comforting and lasting memory. Thanks also to Susan and John Ross Funeral Services for their friendship and care and for taking Bobby to his final resting place at Insh Churchyard, led by piper, Sandy MacDonell through Kingussie High Street. The comfort and support of loyal friends throughout Bobby’s 72 years in Kingussie meant a great deal to him and Shirley. Grateful thanks from Shirley for the many flower tributes, letters, cards and visits before and since her loss. Many thanks to the Duke of Gordon Hotel and staff for their hospitality following the service. Over £2000 has been collected so far for the Talla nan Ros – Wolf of Badenoch Project.
