Much loved husband of Bell, devoted dad to Mandy, Bobber and Jacqui and granda to Danika & Keira. A funeral service will be held at 92 Clune Terrace on Friday 10th July at 12noon. The funeral cortège will leave the family home at around 12.30pm, travelling along Clune Terrace, through Strone and then along the Main Street at approximately 12.45pm, before continuing our journey to Banchor Cemetery.

Ann Catherine Garven (KATE), née Matthew, aged 88, on 9th June 2020, at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, darling wife of Graham, mother of Niall, mother-in-law of Caroline and grandmother of Simon & Helen. Kate’s heart, successfully re-built 12 years ago, eventually gave out. Funeral private.

Grace MacKintosh

Grace Alexander MacKintosh, nee Fairgrieve, known as Bunty, was born in Hull on 5th February,1920 and, on Sunday 21st June 2020, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in Ward 9, Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen, in her 101st year. Darling wife of the late Evan Calder MacKintosh of Skye of Curr, Dulnain Bridge, beloved mother of David, grandmother of Suzannah and Mhairi, mother-in-law of Ailsa and Mum of Pixie the Cat, Bunty, a teacher, lived in Lossiemouth, Nairn, 40 years in Primrosehill Drive, Aberdeen and latterly in Portlethen.

Funeral will be private on Thursday 2nd July at Grantown-on-Spey Cemetery, flowers from family only please. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ward 9 and the Mobility and Rehab Unit at Woodend, also the Care Manager and carers in Portlethen, for their kindness and care.

Much loved partner of Elaine, loving Dad to Nikki and Calum and father-in-law to Lee and Jo, doting grampa to Ella, Lola, Phoebe, Abigail, Sebastian and Charlie, dear brother of Gill and Chay and a great friend to many. John served the community of Badenoch and Strathspey as a Funeral Director for over 50 years. A private family funeral will take place on Friday 19th June 2020. The funeral cortège will leave Blairdhu and follow the route of Edna’s old milk round, through Nethybridge at 12.30pm, joining the A95 at Broomhill and passing through Dulnain Bridge at 12.40pm. Our journey to Grantown New Cemetery will continue via South Street and Castle Road East, before travelling down the High Street at approximately 12.50pm.

It is with great sadness Sheena and Lorna announce the sudden death of their mother, Sandra at Lynemore Care Home on Sunday, 24th May 2020. Wife and mother of the late Donald and Charles of Milton Farm, Boat of Garten; mother-in-law to Keith and Iain, devoted Granny to Lorna’s boys Angus and Robert. A private funeral service will take place on Monday, 1st June. The cortège will leave Grantown-on-Spey passing Lynemore Care Home at 10.15am before travelling towards Boat of Garten, past Milton Farm and through the village at around 10.40am to allow friends and neighbours to pay their respects.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie Crerar Forbes, on Sunday 17th May 2020. Devoted wife of the late Sandy, loving mum to Maggie, Gillian and Malcolm and an inspiring high-tech granny to all her grandchildren. Jessie will be hugely missed by her family, friends and the wider community of which she was very much a part. Jessie will leave her house at 12.40pm on Tuesday 26th of May, travelling through the village, stopping briefly outside St Columba’s Church, Boat of Garten, before a private family cremation.

Robert (Bob or Bobbie) Birnie, died on 20th March at home peacefully after a long, courageous and dignified battle with Prostate Cancer.  Loving husband of Yvonne, father of Jayne, Amanda, and Jackie, stepfather to Russell, Andrew and Debbie, father in law and stepfather in law. Much loved grandfather to Olivia, Angus, Ellie, Katie, Ross, Lisa, Amy, Scott, Ally and Harry. Thanks to all those who supported us in caring for Bob at home, Doctors and nurses at Aviemore Medical Practice, MacMillan nurses, Marie Curie nurses, Paramedics and Community nurses.  Due to the current circumstances there will be a private service and interment and a Celebration of his Life will be organised at a later date. The family ask you raise a cuppa or put in a couple of turns next time you ski to remember Bob (make sure they are good turns)!  Family flowers only please but if desired a donation to any cancer charity of your choice or Aviemore Medical Equipment fund.
